Today marks a memorable day in the history of Kirnahar — a day when we witnessed a deeply touching and humanitarian act. Anamika Choudhury, a dedicated member of Spandan Foundation, fulfilled her long-cherished dream — to donate her hair for cancer patients.
Anamika, a 27-year-old resident of Dangapara, Kirnahar, has always been passionate about social work. As a member of Spandan Foundation, she has constantly aspired to do something meaningful for society.
Her inspiration came when she learned that many cancer patients lose their hair due to chemotherapy, which often affects them not only physically but emotionally. From that moment, a strong desire was born in her heart —
“One day, I will donate my hair to help restore someone’s smile and confidence.”
Determined to turn that wish into reality, Anamika began to grow and care for her hair meticulously. For years, she nourished it with love and patience, knowing that one day it would serve a greater purpose.
Today, that long wait finally came to a beautiful end. She visited Urvashi Beauty Parlour in Kirnahar, where she had her hair cut following the correct procedure, and handed it over to Spandan Foundation’s secretary, Mr. Rana Das.
But it wasn’t just a haircut — it was a symbol of compassion, empathy, and selflessness.
“I always wanted to stand beside cancer patients. Thanks to Spandan Foundation, my wish came true today. I feel so happy knowing my hair might bring back someone’s confidence.” — Anamika Choudhury
