There are some moments in life when we truly feel the power of humanity. The ability to help one another, to offer support in times of need, is one of the greatest sources of inspiration. Such a moment occurred on March 30th, 2025, when members of Spandan Foundation stepped forward to perform an extraordinary act of blood donation to save the life of a patient in urgent need of a rare blood type.
🍁 The Beginning of the Incident — A Crucial Test
Anamika Das, a 35-year-old woman from Kachari Potti, Bolpur in Birbhum district, suddenly began suffering from breathing difficulties. Her hemoglobin levels dropped drastically, putting her life at risk. She was admitted to a private nursing home in Burdwan due to the emergency. However, the biggest challenge was her rare blood type — AB Negative. Unfortunately, there was no available supply of this blood type in any nearby blood bank.
🍁 A Human Connection in a Critical Moment
At a time when the patient’s family was feeling hopeless and searching frantically for a solution, Spandan Foundation member Biplab Mondal stepped forward to help. He called the Foundation’s General Secretary, Rana Das, and informed him that a familiar patient urgently needed AB Negative blood. Upon hearing the details, Rana Das immediately assured him that they would take swift action and promised to arrange for a donor.
In such situations, where blood supply is scarce, it’s easy to feel helpless. But for Spandan Foundation, there was a strong resolve — to make sure that every individual has a chance at life, especially when a community stands together to help.

Rana Das, the General Secretary of Spandan Foundation, contacted their members and quickly arranged for a donor. After speaking to the patient’s family and reassuring them, he confirmed that the blood would be delivered on time.
With immense effort and sincerity, Rana Das and the team rushed to the private blood bank in Burdwan. Together with the donor, they carried out the donation with selflessness and care, ensuring that the patient received the much-needed blood. This quick action proved once again that humanity is the greatest strength we have — when we help one another, anything is possible.
