In moments of crisis, true humanity shines through the actions of those who step forward without hesitation. On 27th September 2025, such an inspiring act of compassion and solidarity was carried out by the members of Spandan Foundation, who responded swiftly to an emergency call for B+ positive blood donors.
🍁 The Emergency Call
On Saturday afternoon, Spandan Foundation member Santosh Kar made an urgent phone call to the Foundation. His maternal aunt was in a critical condition at Bolpur Shantiniketan Medical College — her platelet count had dropped dangerously low, and doctors immediately requested B+ blood. The patient’s family, residents of Kule village under Nanoor police station, were deeply anxious and in desperate need of help.
As soon as Santosh informed the team, he was reassured that help would reach on time. The Foundation immediately activated its volunteer network and arranged for donors without delay.
🍁 A Swift and Heartfelt Response
Keeping their promise, members of Spandan Foundation reached the medical college in time, ready to donate blood selflessly. Four committed volunteers — Amrita, Pramit, Somnath, and Dhrubajyoti — came forward to donate blood for the patient.
Each of them has donated multiple times before, continuing to uphold the Foundation’s spirit of service and humanity. Their promptness, courage, and compassion once again proved that a small group of dedicated people can make a huge difference in society.
