A Special Initiative on International Mother Language Day
Date: 21.02.2022
Spandan Foundation, Kirnahar – Birbhum
Today, on International Mother Language Day, Kirnahar Spandan Foundation initiated a truly heartfelt and inspiring effort—an effort that reflects compassion, courage, and the spirit of humanity. We invite everyone to join hands with us and make this mission successful.
The Remarkable Initiative of a Mother and Daughter
One of our dedicated members and social workers, Kismatara Khatun, expressed a noble desire: she wished to donate her hair to support cancer patients who lose their hair during treatment. Inspired by her daughter’s selfless wish, her mother, Sabila Khatun, also came forward to donate her hair.
This beautiful mother–daughter initiative truly touched all of us at Spandan Foundation, and we feel honored to stand beside them.

Kismatara shared her feelings with us:
“A life that is not lived for others is not truly a life.
Taking care of my hair for over 3–3.5 years created an emotional bond, but the moment I imagined it bringing a smile to the face of a patient who is mentally struggling—that attachment faded away. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to do something so meaningful.”
Spandan Foundation salutes this beautiful and rare effort.
Their act reminds us that even a small sacrifice can restore confidence and joy in another person’s life.
Why Hair Donation Matters
Cancer patients often struggle not only physically but also emotionally. Hair loss affects their confidence deeply. By donating hair:
- You bring back someone’s smile
- You gift them confidence during a difficult battle
- You remind them they are not alone
Your small step can be a ray of hope for someone fighting a tough war.
We Invite You to Join This Noble Cause
If you wish to donate your hair and brighten someone’s life, Spandan Foundation is always here to guide and assist you.
Together, we can spread strength, hope, and humanity.
