On Wednesday, 15 May 2024, Spandan Foundation organized a special Jolchatra (refreshment distribution) program at Lakshitola, Kirnahar. This thoughtful initiative was led by two of our dedicated members—Dolly Kar and Laltu Kar.
This compassionate couple chose a unique and meaningful way to observe the death anniversary of their grandparents, Late Rabindranath Kar and Late Parul Bala Kar. Instead of traditional rituals, they honoured their memory by offering refreshing sherbet to people walking under the scorching summer heat.
Their kindness reflects a mindset that rises above the ordinary. Dolly and Laltu have always been actively involved in humanitarian work. Earlier as well, they have arranged food for stray dogs through the Spandan Foundation. Our team is proud to help turn such heartfelt intentions into action.
A Touching Moment
During the event, a local woman saw the team distributing juice and felt deeply moved. She approached our volunteers with a packet of sweets and said warmly,
“Please have some snacks—you all deserve it.”
Her gesture was a beautiful reminder that kindness inspires more kindness.
